What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Below are further details on the type of data this site works with, but in short we at Terrafoundry are not interested in your personal data.

Fundamentally we do not believe in hoarding, manipulating, or selling your personal data to anyone, and we do not believe it is morally right for companies to do so. Your data is your own, and you have a right to decide what is done with it.

Beyond contact details freely supplied by clients or partners for the purpose of business and other work, we have no interest in keeping any more information about you than that which is strictly necessary for communication purposes.

If, at any time, you wish us to remove your contact details from our systems, every effort will be made to comply with this request in a timely fashion.

Terrafoundry also utilises encrypted email provided by ProtonMail for the purposes of business communication.

Comments are disabled on Terrafoundry website posts, however should this change in the future, this page will be updated to reflect that change and any additional information will be provided at such a time.

If you were to visit our login page (though there’s no reason to,) WordPress sets a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Generally Terrafoundry avoids posting links to third-party sites, though if it is necessary for a technical reference (or to give credit to an author, for example) please be aware that the linked site should have its own Privacy Policy.

Terrafoundry does not use tailored analytics software, however please be aware that owing to the hosted and not-naturally-anonymous nature of the Internet, sometimes your public IP address (IPv4 or IPv6,) or other information may be logged to files and statistics page when you visit any website (not just this one.)

This is general information to bear in mind when surfing the net (as the kids say.)

Who we share your data with

We are not in the business of selling or sharing data.

How long we retain your data

If you are a customer, we may retain your contact information for the purpose of continued or repeat business.

Your rights trump our needs though, and if you would like to get in touch with respect of contact information deletion (and the removal from any mailing lists) please do let us know.

What rights you have over your data

Your rights will differ depending on the geographical region in which you reside; for example, the EU has pretty stringent rights around data in terms of both storage and usage, known collectively as GDPR.

That said, your data is important and we will make every effort to comply with information requests for data we hold on you, and also deletion requests should you send one.

Where we send your data

We do not share data, though please be aware that solutions like email, SMS, or handwritten notes in bad-English, are not naturally secure messaging mediums (by design,) and that you may find email you send or communication methods you use are not inherently encrypted or otherwise protecting your information.

This is general advice and not Terrafoundry specific.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We make every effort not to hold any data on anyone that isn’t strictly necessary for the work we do, and this is usually for the purpose of business communication between contacts working on behalf of companies.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Should any data-breach take place that directly affects individual information, every effort will be made to contact affected individuals to make them aware of the situation, and any mitigations or solutions which have been put in place will be detailed.
